Today, I’m excited to announce that Homejoy is officially in London.
It’s hard to believe that it was just over a year and a half ago when my brother Aaron and I decided that we should try our hand at home cleaning after working for years on failed startup ideas. In the middle of the night, we started building a website where hundreds of thousands of people now go to book a home cleaning, and where thousands of professional cleaners go to be matched with clients. My time at Homejoy has gone so quickly – from building the groundwork in San Francisco in 2012, to launching in over 30 North American markets in 2013, and now in 2014, launching in Europe.
We couldn’t have accomplished it without the on-going hard work of our dedicated team and the support of our investors. And having worked side-by-side with everyone at our London headquarters this week, I couldn’t be more impressed with their diverse talents and dedication to Homejoy’s happy homes mission. There is clearly a great talent pool here – and we look forward to making Homejoy a key member of the growing London startup community.
Over the last few weeks, we’ve already reached hundreds of customers that are saying amazing things about Homejoy, from “I tried Homejoy for the first time – 5 stars!,” to “My Homejoy cleaner is excellent… Great personality, does amazing cleaning and is perfect!” It’s humbling to hear this feedback and I look forward to bringing a simple, reliable and great experience to thousands more customers in the coming months.
The Homejoy London launch, is only the beginning, I look forward to the future with you.
